Is a BBL safe?
A modern BBL is far safer than its reputation when done correctly. The serious risk came from injecting fat into muscle. Here, fat is grafted only in the subcutaneous plane, above the muscle, under real-time ultrasound — which removes the mechanism of the most serious complication.
What does the ultrasound do during a BBL?
Real-time ultrasound lets the surgeon see the exact depth of the cannula at all times, confirming the fat stays in the safe subcutaneous layer and never enters the muscle. It turns a “by feel” step into a visualised, controlled one.
Is the fat really my own?
Yes. A BBL uses only your own fat, harvested from areas like the waist, flanks and back. Nothing artificial is added, which is why the result looks and feels natural.
Does a BBL also make my waist smaller?
Yes — and that is part of what makes it work. Because the fat is sculpted from the waist, flanks and back with VASER, the waist is defined at the same time as the buttocks are built, creating a natural hourglass.
How much of the transferred fat survives?
Not all grafted fat survives; a portion is naturally reabsorbed in the first months, and the rest becomes permanent. Gentle harvesting, careful purification and correct placement all improve how much fat settles for good.
Can I not sit down after a BBL?
You limit direct sitting for around two to three weeks to protect the grafted fat while it establishes a blood supply, using a special cushion when you do sit. Normal sitting returns gradually after that.
BBL or buttock implants — which is better?
A BBL uses your own fat and also slims the waist, giving the most natural result for most patients. Buttock implants are considered mainly for very slim patients who do not have enough donor fat. The right choice is decided at consultation.
Can a BBL be combined with rib remodeling?
Yes — where it suits your goals. Rib remodeling narrows the waist at its bony source, which can enhance the hourglass created by a BBL. It is offered as an optional part of the plan, not a routine add-on.
Is the result permanent?
The fat that survives is permanent. Because it is living fat, it behaves like the rest of your body — so a stable weight keeps the result looking its best; significant weight change can alter it.
Will there be scars?
Only the tiny liposuction access points used to harvest and graft the fat, which heal to be barely noticeable. There is no large incision.
